Chapter 45 Humility
The sunlight streamed through the window, warming Yun Fang’s face. He opened his eyes, and the person in his arms stirred.
He looked down to find Yi Chenliang hugging his waist, his entire body curled up in his arms. He must have found Yun Fang warm, as he had even tucked his feet under Yun Fang’s legs.
Yun Fang reached for his phone and saw that it was 10:26.
Yi Chenliang opened his eyes to look at him, yawned, and then wanted to sleep again.
“It’s half past ten,” Yun Fang said, poking his face.
Yi Chenliang was so sleepy that he couldn’t open his eyes. He held onto Yun Fang’s waist and buried half of his face in Yun Fang’s neck.
His slightly cool nose brushed against the warm skin, making Yun Fang’s neck itch. He remembered some not-so-harmonious things and pushed Yi Chenliang away a bit by covering his forehead.
Yi Chenliang looked at him sleepily for a while, then started to laugh foolishly.
“What are you laughing at?” Yun Fang ruffled his hair, squinted, and reached for his glasses.
Yi Chenliang, probably still not fully awake, deliberately held his hand to prevent him from getting his glasses. “I dreamed that I had a dream. When I woke up, I couldn’t find you anywhere. It scared me.”
Yun Fang asked, “What did you dream about that scared you so much when you couldn’t find it?”
“Hmm…” Yi Chenliang’s nose was a bit itchy, and he raised his hand to rub it. “Just us going to school together.”
Yun Fang pulled his hand out from under his back, put on his glasses, got out of bed, and went to wash up. Yi Chenliang laid on the bed, stretched his legs and arms, and yawned widely.
Yun Fang walked to the bedroom door, suddenly stopped, turned his head and said to him, “When I lie, my nose itches and I can’t help but touch it.”
After he finished speaking, he left, leaving Yi Chenliang with a yawn half-finished, frozen on the bed in a twisted position.
Until they both left the house, Yi Chenliang felt a strange sense of guilt whenever he faced Yun Fang.
The two of them sat in the last row of the bus, and Yun Fang looked at him with a mix of laughter and tears. “Don’t worry, I won’t remember every dream.”
Yi Chenliang looked at him distrustfully, “So you still remember your first spring dream?”
Yun Fang choked on his own saliva, feeling a bit embarrassed after the fact, “I did it to make you believe me.”
“But you can’t deny the fact that you remember it.” Yi Chenliang looked curiously at the faint blush on his neck, feeling as if a little kitten’s paw was scratching his heart. He childishly teased him, “You haven’t had a girlfriend in twenty years, have you?”
Yun Fang looked at him expressionlessly.
For some reason, the kitten’s paw in Yi Chenliang’s heart scratched even more, “No boyfriend either?”
“Shut up.” Yun Fang turned his head to look out the window, as if he had a great interest in the bare branches outside.
“Then the last time I kissed you, wasn’t it—” Yi Chenliang, probably dazed by the kitten’s paw, blurted out without thinking. Neither his brain nor Yun Fang, who suddenly turned his head to glare at him, could stop him.
“Your first kiss.”
The wind howled past the window, and the small space in the back row of the bus became incredibly quiet.
Yi Chenliang watched as the faint blush on Yun Fang’s neck not only didn’t fade, but also seemed to be creeping up to his ears, making his own cheeks hot. He quickly hit on an idea in desperation and made up for it, “It’s okay, it was my first time too.”
Yun Fang: “…”
Yi Chenliang: “…”
“Shut up, ancestor.” Yun Fang turned his head to look at the snowy scenery outside the window again, but his mind involuntarily started to flash images of Yi Chenliang kissing him, and he subconsciously curled his fingers.
The matter that both sides had tacitly agreed not to mention was brought up, and besides embarrassment, some other indescribable emotions began to spread.
Yi Chenliang obediently shut up, recalling the dream-like dream, he sighed with a bit of regret.
It’s hard to remember a dream within a dream. He only remembered that Yun Fang was trapped in cotton candy, and he rushed up to save him.
The cotton candy was as white as snow, and Yun Fang’s eyebrows and eyes were like ink. He looked like a person who had mistakenly entered the snow in a painting. His short hair was scattered in the snow, and he took the initiative to hug his neck and kiss him…The dream shattered and became hot, the stretched sugar silk wrapped around Yun Fang like a veil, on his wrist…Yun Fang’s inner thigh even had a mole that was exactly like his…
The snow-like cotton candy melted and blurred, entangled on Yun Fang’s body indistinctly. Yun Fang was cool and sweet under him, but his breath was rapid and hot… The fluffy sugar veil covered Yun Fang’s eyes, he couldn’t help but touch it, but the moment he touched it, it turned into snow water, revealing Yun Fang’s always cold and distant eyes, but unexpectedly dyed with an indescribable desire, “Yi Chenliang—”
“Yi Chenliang, we’re here.” Yun Fang patted the daydreaming person.
Yi Chenliang suddenly jumped up from his seat, his head hitting the handrail above with a “bang”, making Yun Fang wince in pain.
Yi Chenliang was in pain, holding his head and howling.
Yun Fang pulled him off the bus and stood on the side of the street looking at his head, admonishing, “Is your head happy only when it hits something once a day? What were you thinking about just now that you were so engrossed?”
Yi Chenliang guiltily lowered his eyes and half-truthfully said, “Eating cotton candy.”
Yun Fang chuckled, thinking that he was still a child after all. He looked around the street and happened to see a cotton candy vendor, so he simply went over and bought one for him.
Before Yi Chenliang could recover, he had a fluffy white cotton candy in his hand, staring blankly at Yun Fang.
Yun Fang coaxed the child, and said to him, “Eat quickly, little friend Yi Chenliang.”
For the first time, Yi Chenliang felt that this light and fluffy candy could be as heavy as a thousand pounds. His head was still dizzy from the bump, and he handed the cotton candy to Yun Fang’s mouth, “You eat.”
Yun Fang thought he was being modest. The child finally knew to let him before he opened his mouth. He was comforted and bit like an old father.
He accidentally tore off a bit too much, and the sugar silk stuck to his cheek. He reached out and took off that small piece of cotton candy, licked the corner of his mouth, and saw Yi Chenliang still holding the cotton candy and staring at him in a daze.
“Yi Chenliang?” Yun Fang waved his hand in front of his eyes, “Are you feeling unwell?”
Yi Chenliang snapped back to reality, dared not look at Yun Fang anymore, and simply turned around and walked away. His voice unconsciously raised, and spoke in a strong and powerful tone, “I’m fine! I’m just sleepy!”
Yun Fang grabbed the back of his collar and pulled him back, “Where are you going, this way.”
Yi Chenliang deliberately fell behind Yun Fang, took a bite of cotton candy and looked at Yun Fang, took another bite and looked again. He always felt that this cotton candy was not as delicious as the one in his dream. The cotton candy in his dream was like snow, cold and slightly sweet, and Yun Fang was also like snow, melting as soon as he touched it…
He couldn’t control the dirty and terrible thoughts in his head at all, and was so angry that he bit the bamboo stick of the cotton candy in a fit of pique, muttering to himself in a low voice, “Yi Chenliang, you are a beast, no, you are worse than a beast!”
Yun Fang’s hearing was very good, and he heard Yi Chenliang’s words clearly. He couldn’t help but recall the terrible scene when he kissed Yi Chenliang, feeling that he was really worse than a beast. He turned around and looked at Yi Chenliang, his expression very complicated, “Stop cursing.”
Yi Chenliang looked at his beastly object, feeling somewhat like crying without tears, “I’m not cursing you.”
Yun Fang looked at him speechlessly, “I know—but what did the cotton candy do wrong to be gnawed by you like this?”
Yi Chenliang looked down at the cotton candy in his hand that looked like it had been gnawed by a dog, gritted his teeth and said, “It’s a great sin!”
Yun Fang: “…”
He and Yi Chenliang really had a generation gap.
