CH 137 The Gorgon

They had the most terrifying and powerful enemies in the world. The Throne of God Wharf in Eagle Mouth Bay was definitely not built overnight. It was so majestic and shocking that it could indeed be called the throne of God. In the thousands of years that the Rose family had been accumulating their strength, the Holy Court was also going all out to plot for their ambitions.

The Walway pirates obeyed Griselda's order and retreated to the far sea to avoid being affected by the ensuing battle.

The warships of the Holy Court began to shrink. The people of the First Corps didn't know what happened, but their rationality told them that they had to defend the Seat of God Wharf, which was of great significance to the Holy Court.

Griselda drove the Dragon Wing Battleship and flew low over the sea, like a goshawk circling and sizing up its prey before diving for the kill.

The Dragon Wing Battleship was wrapped in a layer of faint green light. With this layer of green light, when she flew up, she was light and agile, exuding a snake-like grace.

Grislda's green pupils have turned into a thin line, revealing the ferocity of a cold-blooded creature. But her face began to reveal an alluring enchantment.

The ancestor of the witches, the cursed serpent of the world was revived in her body.

Griselda seldom talked about her past with the others.

She was wanted by the Holy Court's Twelve Inquisitions. Unlike those witches who were weary and exiled, she had blood on her hands before joining the Walway Pirates. As a little girl, Griselda witnessed her father, who was just an ordinary man, being burned at the stake, refusing to reveal her mother's name even up to his death. After the burning was over, she ran from the corner to collect her father's bones in the ashes.

The moment her fingers touched her father's skull, sharp pain erupted in her mind, and she saw the ancient snake circling in her dizziness. It had looked at her in the raging fire.

After waking up, she possessed the power of a witch.

——Kill them.

She heard the snake telling her.

From that moment on, she became unusually beautiful, but also unusually cunning and vicious. She expertly used her looks to seduce the filthy nobles, then slit their throats when they were unsuspecting. She chose her targets carefully, and grew up drinking blood, with the venom of the ancient serpent running through her veins.

Curse, seduce, assassinate.

She was called the "Banshee", and once became the shadow in the hearts of the people in the north of Bryce. She became conceited because of her strength, and in turn hunted down those witch hunters who wanted to judge her, until the Pope also heard of her existence and sent the servants of the Twelve Tribunals to arrest her.

"So that's what the Throne of God used to carry the holy ark looks like."

Griselda murmured coldly. She steered the battleship soaring high above the sea suddenly, and a bolt of lightning flashed from the place where she had just been hovering, managing yo avoid it a hair's breadth away.

There was lightning around the Throne of God, and the clouds in the sky began to gather in large swaths, forming a vortex. The center of the vortex was facing the Throne of God, as if something had been called to break free from the shackles of the sky and descend down to the earth.

There was invisible pressure filling the space between heaven and the earth, making it difficult for people to stand.

That was divine power.

God judged the world with thunder, storm, and destruction, and His wrath was the wrath of heaven and earth.

But so what?

Griselda and the Jenny shuttled through the endless curtain of thunder and rain. They joined forces to put on the most exciting performance before the wrath of God. They were as elegant and beautiful as elves dancing on the cliff in a storm. Lightning chased them, but couldn't hurt them at all.

The silver light in the vortex became more and more intense, and a huge shadow was faintly imprinted in the sky.

The Walway pirates who retreated to the distance were already standing with difficulty under the invisible pressure. They didn't want to kneel down, so they simply turned over and lay down on the deck, with their arms outstretched, and made an extremely vulgar gesture of contempt towards the sky.

Griselda was looking for an opportunity.

The poisonous snake slithered and circled before launching an attack. It would choose the most vulnerable point of the prey and kill it with one blow. The eyes of the ancient snake communicated with hers, and the Throne of God in front of its eyes was not complete,  the truly complete Throne of God was naturally integrated and indestructible.

Griselda was looking for the most vulnerable point of the Throne of God.

Passing through the two bolts of lightning that intercepted her, Griselda finally saw a dim place on the pedestal of the throne.

"Found it."

She whispered to herself and the Jenny.

The giant dragon scale sail was billowed and made a loud noise, the Jenny encouraging her contractor in her own way.

Griselda silently took off her black pointed hat and threw it into the sky. The hair now hanging down her shoulders unfurled in an instant, turning into countless tiny writhing snakes. She reached out and grabbed the hem of her robe, and pulled it hard, splitting the black robe that had tightly shrouded her.

She walked forward slowly, shedding the old skin that bound her like a reborn snake, and standing gracefully at the bow of the ship.

The white light of the lightning illuminated Griselda's bare body, which was as white as frost and snow, and the hair of snakes fell down to her slender waist. Standing there, she was the most primitive human desire itself. Between heaven and earth, there was no second existence as beautiful and enchanting as her.

Griselda spread her arms and let the strong wind blow over her snake-like body.

She had been shrouding herself tightly in black robes, the reason was not that she was left with a brand by the Holy Court that symbolized that she should be burned at the stake, as the pirates privately speculated, but because she had the most perfect female body in the world. Her body hosted the will of the ancient snake. When she took off her long robe, even ascetic monks would kneel at her feet.

The Gorgon.

In the legends of the Holy Court, they were depicted as the desires of the world, symbolizing the endless depravity and viciousness. They were crucified under the cross, and their dead bodies could still continue to enchant the world.

The Walway pirates had never seen such Griselda before.

The captain of the Walway pirates was a crazy mental case all day long, and the first mate was a pedantic professor. The neurotic Hawkins was of no use except to make the Walway pirates think about whether to murder the captain every day. Charles, the first mate who was like a stuffy professor, took on the responsibility of the captain. So, Griselda had to play that role of reassurance, over the years, like a nanny worrying about the trivial matters of each pirate.

People in northwestern Bryce who were once shrouded in the shadow of the Gorgon would never have imagined that the Gorgon they feared and yearned for so many years was actually hiding in a small ship and had become the nanny of a group of lawless pirates.

But she liked Walway, these quirky ghost ships, and these guys who love to drink.

So she willingly played the role of a nanny.

But she was not a real nanny after all, she was the Flower of Sin.

"Jenny."

Griselda chuckled lightly, and even her voice was completely different from before, revealing seven parts indolence and three parts charm. Her vertical pupils were fixed on the darkest place on the throne.

They were already approaching the center of the throne, where the thunder was so dense that it covered the entire space, making it unavoidable. Every time a thunderbolt landed on the Dragon Wing Battleship, the green light surrounding her became dimmer, and there was an extra scar on Griselda's perfect body. Her contract with the Jenny was different from the others, she could join herself and the Jenny to become one entity.

"Want to accompany me?"

She extended an invitation.

The dragon wings flapped slowly, and rose vines suddenly spread out on the bow of the ship and entangled with Griselda's graceful body, covering more and more scars, roses blooming in their place. With dark green vines and scarlet roses, the Jenny wove a gorgeous battle robe for her chosen contractor.

This was the Jenny's answer.

"Let's go!"

Griselda smiled happily. She once wandered the world and had nothing but hatred. But now she felt like she owned the whole world.

The dragon wings flapped, and the battleship soared into the sky amidst the thunder. It retracted its wings almost in the center of the vortex, and swooped down.

On the sea far away from thunder, the Walway pirates suddenly felt the pressure on their bodies lighten. They turned over and stood up, seeing in the distance the Dragon Wing Battleship, covered in green light from head to tail, carrying their Witch, crashing down like a meteor, hitting the Throne of God, which was as bright as the sun.

The world suddenly became eerily quiet.

The Walway pirates stood on the deck, not even aware of what happened for a moment.

Wine, weapons, beauties.

This was what a pirate's life was all about, but none of the Walway pirates would make their vulgar and crass jokes on Griselda. Most of the pirates in Walway were abandoned by their family and relatives, displaced and homeless, they themselves lived like pebbles on the side of the road, just because they received little tenderness from the world.

And Griselda gave them this gentleness with a bit of sternness.

They called her "elder sister" in their hearts and admired her devoutly.

The battleship crashed on the throne, and the world in front of them quickly switched between extremely bright and extremely dark, as if it was on the verge of destruction…..In their lives, the person who played an indispensable female role, like a sister, disappeared into this splendor.

From now on, who would scold them and tell them not to drink too much and get drunk? Who would treat their wounds while lecturing them?

The world was empty.

……………………

It seemed like the whole world was raining.

The lights in the Rose Palace stayed on all night, and the heavy rain even poured into the corridors. The Head of the Households rushed across the puddles of water, trailing the chill along with him, and knocked on the door of the King's room regardless of etiquette.

The King was wearing a robe, standing in front of the window, looking to the northeast.

To the northeast, on the other side of the Abyss Strait, was the most important target of this raid, Eagle Mouth Bay.

The King didn't rest. He was waiting for news, whether it was news from the battlefield or news about the Mason family.

During the burning ceremony of the papal decree, an assassin attempted to assassinate Archbishop Anil. Afterwards, it was investigated that the assassin came from the Mason family. But in the eyes of the King, the Mason family was likely to be the scapegoat who was pushed to the front, and there were other people lurking behind. Therefore, the Head of the Households was ordered by him to have spies intercept all messengers departing from the Mason family within today.

"The Mason family seems to be conspiring with the Pligney family to rebel."

The Head of the Households reported the first major news of the night.

The King nodded calmly.

"What about the situation in Eagle Mouth Bay?"

He asked.

The torrential rain outside the window gradually subsided, but the whistling of the wind was still shrill.
