Song Seven first glanced at the locked door before him, then at his teammates beyond the door to his left, and ultimately made his way toward Chen Junnan.
Although Terrestrial Rabbit could hear their discussion, if even he remained unaware of the plan, how could the ensuing game unfold?
“Captain…” Song Seven murmured as he approached Chen Junnan. “Do you know how many times a rabbit’s hearing surpasses a human’s?”
“Wow, he’s really gotten into your head, huh?” Chen Junnan laughed. “If I’m not mistaken, a rabbit’s hearing is at most three times better than a human’s. What of it?”
“Three times…?” Song Seven hesitated. “Then was he able to hear everything?”
“Hear everything…?” Chen Junnan frowned slightly. “You mean his auditory perception…”
“Exactly.” Song Seven nodded earnestly. “So from this point on, you must measure every word. Anything spoken could steer us toward failure.”
The group stiffened at his warning.
A towering man…with the hearing of a rabbit?
Chen Junnan lowered his head, falling silent for a long moment, before raising it with a nonchalant expression. “After careful thought, the rules of this game are already transparent. There are no hidden rules unknown to us. Faced with such a game, our strategies are limited to a couple of options… Even if Terrestrial Rabbit is in the know, we must still do this, or we’ll have no hope of winning whatsoever.
Despite how dangerous it sounded, the group knew Chen Junnan’s words were entirely reasonable.
Escape-type games did not rely solely on strategy; inevitably, there would be moments of direct confrontation with the pursuers.
“Indeed,” Song Seven murmured after a moment of thought, nodding. “If that’s the case… then go ahead and say it loud and clear.”
Chen Junnan nodded and turned to Song Seven. “I need you to release that rabbit.”
On the other side, Cui Fourteen relayed the same instruction to Jiang Ten.
While they both heard the same plan, their expressions greatly varied; Song Seven’s expression was one of utter shock, while Jiang Ten merely yawned.
“May I know the reason?” Song Seven asked. “Did our earlier approach fail?”
Chen Junnan briefly explained the unspoken rules of {Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea} to Song Seven. At the same time, Song Seven also noticed the various props the others carried.
“So you’re saying… the {flute} hanging from Terrestrial Rabbit’s neck is essential for our escape?”
“Exactly,” Chen Junnan affirmed, then craned his neck and shouted loudly, “Am I right, cotton-tailed rascal da ge?”
Terrestrial Rabbit stood leaning against the wall in the room, letting out a cold scoff, but paid no heed to Chen Junnan.

The damned were still doomed to die. There was no way all six could walk away unscathed from this game.
“That is indeed troublesome,” Song Seven remarked grimly. “Let’s not have Xiao Jiang Ten open the door to his room yet. Let Terrestrial Rabbit go through my door.”
“Your door?” Chen Junnan glanced at Song Seven, noting the young man’s vigilant posture. It seemed he had intended to take full responsibility for this from the start.
“Indeed,” Song Seven replied. “Captain, this is an excellent opportunity. I’ve never tested my abilities against the {Earthly Branches} before; I want to gauge my own strength. With one of the top damage-oriented {Reverberation} in the entire {End Point}, if I can eliminate a Terrestrial-grade—”
Before anyone could respond, a yawn echoed from the other side of the room.
“Seven ge hooah…” Jiang Ten wiped his eyes, his voice feeble, “I was thinking the same thing. I want to see if an {Earthly Branch} can actually kill me. With one of the top durability-oriented {Reverberation} in the entire {End Point}, I want to test it too.”
“That…” Song Seven knew Jiang Ten wasn’t putting on a show of false bravado, he genuinely wished to experience the force of a {Terrestrial-grade}. After a few seconds of thought, Song Seven said, “Then let’s open them together and let the Terrestrial Rabbit choose.”
“Alright...” Jiang Ten clasped his hands and nodded firmly. “If he doesn’t hit me soon, I’ll fall asleep…”
Once the two had agreed on their plan, Song Seven turned slightly and whispered to Chen Junnan, “But, Captain—”
“Speak up!” Chen Junnan snapped. “What are you still afraid of? Worried that rabbit can’t hear you?”
Song Seven gave a wry smile and shook his head. “Alright, alright. Then I want to know what happens after we let that rabbit out? If there’s no strategy, how are we meant to snatch that {flute}?”
Chen Junnan raised a hand and scratched his temple, then asked, “Xiao Song… when you go all out…can you avoid friendly fire?”
Song Seven immediately understood what Chen Junnan meant, and also knew that his answer would disappoint him.
“Forget about {friendly fire},” Song Seven gave a wry smile. “If I truly go all out, the first one to die will be myself. My {Reverberation} is {Detonating Spark}, after all, and a normal human body can’t withstand an explosion.”
“Oh?” Chen Junnan lifted an eyebrow. “That explosive, huh? Then it looks like you’re better suited to acting alone…”
“Indeed.” Song Seven nodded. “You all can act together, just leave one person in the room next door.”
“Next door…?”
Song Seven nodded. “I did a quick test earlier. If the door is open, we can throw items from our current room into a neighboring one. That doesn’t violate the rules, and that rabbit won’t interfere.”
“Heh…”Chen Junnan let out a crooked grin. “If that’s the case, getting that {flute} will be easy as pie…”
He turned back, mulled it over briefly, then said to the others, “The plan is set. Everyone except me, Xiao Song, and Xiao Jiang Ten will go look for the remaining {Divine Artifacts}.”
“You’re staying too?” Jiang Ten folded his arms and slowly sat down. “What’s the use of you staying?”
Chen Junnan replied, “I want to see for myself what this so-called {Unbreakable Spirit} really is.”
“It’ll scare you to death,” Jiang Ten humphed, then lazily let out another yawn.
With the strategy fully settled, aside from the three who would hold back Terrestrial Rabbit, the rest were to head to room {Ten} and {Fourteen} in search of the final unrevealed {Divine Artifacts}.
“Captain…” Cui Fourteen glanced at Chen Junnan with concern. “Then we’ll be setting off. You all must exercise caution.”
“No problem.” Chen Junnan nodded. “With me here, you really don’t need to feel at ease.”
Cui Fourteen nodded, but soon after, she realized something was off in his statement. “Captain, what did you just say?”
“Get moving.” Chen Junnan raised an eyebrow and shot a look at Song Seven and Xiao Jiang Ten. The two of them shut the door one last time and locked it.
