Chapter 1: I’ll Kiss You if You Don’t Call Me Shifu (1)
The evening sun shone with a warm, orange glow that reached even the mountains and valleys, painting them with a light,yellow hue.
A few clever swallows made a few elegant, curving dives before disappearing into the dense trees.
On the sparkling waters, the blue and orange colors merged with the light ripples. It was peaceful and beautiful.
But suddenly , the peace was ruined by the worried commotion of shouting in Flying Crane Manor, hidden in the Yueqing Mountain.
“Little Miss, please come down! If the Master sees, we’ll be yelled at again!”
“Little Miss, didn’t you promise us yesterday that you wouldn’t climb trees again? Why did you climb it??”
“Ai ai ai! Be careful! Please do not fall from the tree!”
In the front courtyard of Flying Crane Manor stood a lush banyan tree, there an adorable little girl dressed in pale pink sat on one of the thick branches, swinging her legs in the air.
Beneath the banyan tree stood a circle of maidservants clothed in pale green garments, with the look of pure anxiety and worry written in their faces.
“Don’t worry, I climb this old tree everyday, and I’ve never fallen off!” On Ye Qiqi’s small round face glowed with health and a wide, beaming smile. She swung her short little legs and gazed at the scenery outside the villa. In a clear, crisp and sweet voice, she said, “Having to stay in this villa day after day is so boring, when will Grandpa allow me to leave the mountain?”
“Aiya, my little forebear, please just come down. Your grandfather is going to have us thrown out if you stay up there…” The maidservants stared at her little legs, that were ever so casually swinging in the air, and felt as if their hearts had joined them in their suspensension, far above the ground.
“That’s not going to happen, if grandfather tries to have you thrown out, I’ll just help…” Qiqi stopped mid-sentence. Outside the villa, along the winding road that led up to the mountain, two figures slowly approached.
The one in the front was dressed in dark, fitting clothes designed for movement, he was obviously the guard, and behind him was a boy of about eight or nine.
“Someone’s coming, someone’s coming!!” Ye Qiqi cried out to the group of ladies below the tree, “I see two people heading right for our Villa!”
