After more than ten days of hospitalization, Lin Xu had fully recovered.
To avoid causing panic, only the teachers and a few of Lin Xu's roommates knew the truth about the kidnapping incident. The other students were told that Lin Xu had gone home early due to illness.
The kidnappers who had been hired were soon sent to prison. As for dealing with the real mastermind behind this, Gu Qi and Lin Shen have been working together to set up a trap.
Additionally, Gu Qi had to keep prodding his younger brother to go to work and not neglect the company’s affairs.
Gu Jinzhi was firm in his reasoning. “My executives are all highly capable. The company won't collapse if I'm away for a day or two. A boss who doesn't rely on his employees isn't a good boss.”
Gu Qi had no choice but to watch Gu Jinzhi accompany his partner every day.
Once Lin Xu had fully recovered, they turned their attention to moving in together. The first priority was finding a suitable apartment, ideally close to the campus to make Lin Xu’s commute easier.
Lin Shen took on this task right away. After all, the Lin family was in the real estate business, so it was impossible for him to mess this up. Even if he couldn't find a suitable house in the short term, there was a family hotel near the school where they could stay for a while.
Gu Jinzhi made demands of his elder brother-in-law without any hesitation.
“Make it closer to the school, so it's more convenient for Ah Xu to go to class.”
After all, winter was coming, and getting up early was surely a difficult task! These were all things that Gu Jinzhi considered for his boyfriend, thinking back to his own student days.

Meanwhile, Gu Jinzhi took some time to accompany Lin Xu back to school to pack up his belongings.
The winter campus was beautiful. On the day they returned, the first snow of the season was falling. Snowflakes danced on their hair as they strolled hand in hand through the campus.

Today, he was bundled up in a knee-length down jacket, layered with thick sweatpants and thermal underpants. He had a light blue scarf wrapped around his neck, gloves on his hands, and even earmuffs. He was toasty warm from head to toe.
Lin Xu wore a matching couple’s scarf and similar attire.
Despite the heavy layers, they didn’t appear bulky. Their naturally good figures ensured they remained a striking sight.
However, Gu Jinzhi had his own conditions.
As soon as they reached the dorm building, Gu Jinzhi hurriedly removed the earmuffs and gloves, stowing them in Lin Xu’s bag in one fluid motion.
“So ugly,” Gu Jinzhi grumbled ungratefully.
“Then will you wear it when you go out?” Lin Xu asked with a smile.
Gu Jinzhi grinned and nodded, “I will!”
To match, Lin Xu also took off his earmuffs and stowed them in the bag, and then he fixed Gu Jinzhi's hair. The room was pretty warm anyway.
They only needed to pack up a few important items today. The rest would be taken care of later.
When they entered the dorm, a few of Gu Jinzhi’s roommates were chatting in their chairs. Lin Xu had informed them of his visit in advance.
Seeing the couple together again, the roommates felt an unexpected wave of emotion.
“Damn, you’re finally back!” Lu Zhe exclaimed as he gave Lin Xu a bear hug, being careful not to jostle his injuries.
They had visited the hospital once before, but with their busy schedules, they could only keep in touch through messages.
If this hadn't happened to someone they knew, they would have never believed that such things could happen in wealthy families. Thankfully, everything turned out okay. Because they didn't realize what was happening sooner, they often felt guilty afterwards. They were so grateful to have Second Brother Gu.
So, upon seeing Gu Jinzhi again, their eyes were filled with admiration.
After all, Second Brother Gu was quite extraordinary. They had heard that the kidnappers were burly men, not easy to deal with.

He and Ah Xu had met around springtime, so they both felt it was a special season. The weather would be warm, and the flowers would be in full bloom.
The roommates nodded, looking forward to witnessing the luxurious engagement ceremony of the wealthy.
This was Gu Jinzhi’s first time in Lin Xu’s dorm. After surveying the room, he joked, “You could probably fit another person in here. The conditions seem pretty good.”
The space was indeed ample. Adding another bed wouldn’t make it too cramped, but accommodating another person... well, that was pushing it. Even though everyone admired Gu Jinzhi’s impressive skills, they were unwilling to entertain his unreasonable request!
“Please spare us, Second Brother Gu. We’re just single dogs!”
Lin Xu stood by, listening to their banter without intervening. He knew Gu Jinzhi well enough to understand that he was probably annoyed by these third wheels anyway.
“Tsk, you really took that seriously? I was more worried you’d be a nuisance to me and Ah Xu,” Gu Jinzhi said lazily.
Lin Xu then clarified seriously, “I’m planning to move out. You all can come over to visit.”
The group showed interest. “You two are moving in together?”
“Who else would he live with?” Gu Jinzhi interjected confidently, winking at Lin Xu.
The group responded with a bemused “oh,” but they were also quite envious.
Well, Lin Xu and Gu Jinzhi seemed like the perfect couple. Not only were their families wealthy, but they were both incredibly handsome. On top of that, their relationship was so deep that they’d already decided to spend their lives together. Suddenly, it didn’t seem like the length of a relationship was what mattered most. After all, many couples who had been together for years couldn’t handle crises as well as these two.
The most important thing was that both were deserving of each other.
After packing up some important items, Lin Xu and Gu Jinzhi left the dormitory building under the watchful eyes of the others.
Both felt a little surreal — soon they would really be sharing a room together.
“Actually, there should be plenty of rooms,” Lin Xu said seriously, also considering the need for some private space.
Gu Jinzhi, however, was only sighing for effect. He really didn’t need any private space!
“You want to sleep in separate rooms? I’ll make sure you don’t!” Gu Jinzhi snorted, deliberately clenching his fists.
Lin Xu didn’t need private space either, although he respected personal preferences. But he was clear — sleeping separately was out of the question.
Lin Xu pried Gu Jinzhi’s fingers apart, helping him put on his gloves and earmuffs, which turned Gu Jinzhi’s expression from gloomy to sunny.
“My big brother said he found a pretty good place for us. Want to go check it out?”
“Mm!”
It was a large flat. Finding a villa near the school was a bit challenging, but this place was more than enough for two people.
Gu Jinzhi, clinging onto his boyfriend’s arm, followed Lin Shen out of the elevator, feeling quite smug. Never in his wildest dreams had he thought Lin Shen would one day be finding them a home.
As soon as they walked in, Gu Jinzhi was impressed. The house had an excellent view and was decorated in a very modern and stylish way. The living room featured a large floor-to-ceiling window, and the master bedroom had the same.
“What about the glass?” Although the apartment was on a high floor, Gu Jinzhi was still concerned about privacy.
“You can only see out from inside,” Lin Shen explained, understanding his concern.
Gu Jinzhi immediately thought of some R-18 scenarios and felt a thrill. He couldn't help but whistle.
Then he met Lin Shen's frightening gaze. Gu Jinzhi immediately wilted and followed Lin Xu reluctantly, pulling him along. But his mind kept racing. This place was too amazing!
Lin Xu hadn’t thought of any of that. His own requirements were modest, and he was quite satisfied that there was only one household on this floor. Lin Xu wasn't very good at dealing with neighbors.
The wall of books was another feature he particularly liked. As for the rest, Zhizhi was happy with it, and that was what mattered.
“Thank you, ge. We really like it,” Lin Xu said sincerely before Lin Shen left.
Gu Jinzhi, hiding behind Lin Xu, also nodded in agreement. He was thrilled with the house. Although Lin Xu's older brother seemed a bit aloof, he had clearly put a lot of thought into it.
“I’m glad you like it. I’ll head back to work now. The house has been cleaned, so you can move in right away.” Lin Shen gave them both a small smile. He was actually quite pleased with Gu Jinzhi. In short, as long as the two of them were happy together, that was all that mattered.
Within a couple of days, they had completely moved in. The study was equipped with Gu Jinzhi’s gaming setup and Lin Xu’s bookshelf, while the bedroom boasted a new set of bedding, with several more sets stored away in the closet.
This was their own space, where they no longer needed to be cautious. They could start kissing as soon as they entered the foyer and lounge on the sofa watching movies.
That night, Gu Jinzhi insisted on spending time with his boyfriend. They did it in the bedroom, in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, enjoying a moment both beautiful and thrilling as they watched the snow fall.
Just thinking about that night made Gu Jinzhi’s heart race and his legs go weak.
Lin Xu, typically reserved, was willing to push his boundaries for the things he cared about and the person he loved.
At least, he also found it all absolutely wonderful.
